English Wine Tasting Tours are soon to be celebrating their first anniversary since launching English Wine Tasting Tours, who provide corporate and consumer day tours to English Vineyards. We took a tour and spoke to the founder Nicola Boarer to see how their first year has gone.
‘’We’ve had a fantastic first year, and are really looking forward to what 2016 has in store for us. We did a soft launch into the market to see what kind demand there is for English Wine Tours and we have been amazed by the positive response we have received.
The consumer tours are proving to be really popular, so much so that we’ve added additional tour dates for the 2016 summer season, and have big plans to launch new wine tours in the Essex and Surrey region.
Our tours have appealed to real mixed bag. From cool Londoners looking for a day out, tourists who’ve heard about English Wine, through to hard core foodies who simply love good food and wine.
Our wide range of guests has really epitomised the fact that English Wine has a far reaching appeal, young, old, the patriotic English, tourists, hen parties and corporate organisations looking for something that little bit different!’’
The Kent and Sussex English Wine Tasting Tours start from central London near London Bridge, and takes guest to two vineyards for a tour and tasting at both, with a Gastro pub lunch in between.
We took the flagship Kent Tour, which took us to The Chapel Down Winery and The Hush Heath Estate. These are two very contrasting vineyards; one being one of the UK’s biggest and most well known vineyards and one producing high end Estate wine. Both wineries are award winning and offer a wide range of wines. The two wineries really give guests an insight into the English Wine Industry and where it is at currently and the direction we’re heading in.
Lunch was at The Goudhurst Inn, with a selection of very English dishes and some more English Wine. It gave everyone the opportunity to get chatting and we all talked about the thing we all had in common, and passion for good wine and food.
The whole focus of the day was very much about English Wine and English produce and the high standards which we are achieving. The tourists on the tour absolutely loved this and English couldn’t help but feel a little bit proud.
English Wine Tasting Tours run regular tours from central London from May through to November. They also create tailor made tours for companies, groups and hen parties throughout the South East.
