Rye is the perfect place to start your wine tour
Rye is steeped in history dating back to the 12th century. You can get lost in time as you meander around the ancient cobbled streets. Some vineyards which are nearby the medieval village are:
- Gusbourne
- Charles Palmer
- Sedlescombe Organic
- Chapel Down
- Woodchurch
- Wayfayer
Stoll the streets of Rye after your day out in the vineyards
There are several places you must visit and walk throughout the town. We often encourage guest to to to Mermaid St and see the House with Two Front Doors and also the Mermaid Inn. The Mermaid Inn is was rated the most haunted pub in England and was featured on the TV programme "Most Haunted!"
Some other notable places to swing by for a drink or a nibble of cheese would be:
- Rye Wine Bar and Jazz Club
- The Globe Inn (gin bar, loads of gin)
- The Ship Inn (owned by Hush Heath Estate and has English wine)
- Rye Fine Wines (a good ole bolthole)
- Rye Deli (for your cheese cravings)
