Guide for the Day!

Earlier this month we had the pleasure to be a "guide for the day" with the press for Visit Britain. What a day! Filled with English wine and cheese, the beautiful English countryside, fresh air, castle views, all in the heart of wine country! We departed first thing on a Wednesday morning from the Conrad Hotel (St. James) in London and embarked for the wine country. The day was perfect for wine tour as we left London it rained, and rained most of the morning. The tour continued and the weather improved.

We arrived at Chapel Down and did a winery tour and guided tasting of six delicious wines. The staff at Chapel Down are always so welcoming and friendly when we visit. But shortly after the tasting the group then headed up stairs for lunch at the Swan Wine Kitchen. We indulged in a meal that was perfectly paired with Chapel Down wines.

We started with a beautiful Autumn Butternut Squash Puree paired with Chapel Down Kits Coty Chardonnay and a main of Grilled Fillet of Halibut paired with Chapel Down Kits Coty Bacchus.

Here comes the cheese!

The main event was the English Wine and Cheese pairing at Silcocks Dairy. This was done by our own English Wine Guru, Justin. On the slate we had cow, ewe, and goats cheese. Per fect for English Wine.

Evening with Visit Britain in London

We got back from the press trip we joined a "mixer evening" in London with PR staff from around the world at Visit Britain headquarters! The evening was filled with meeting new people from each of the respective Visit Britain countries (staff). Drinks, more wine, and canapes were obviously necessary.
